Creating a tablescape starts with your centerpiece. The centerpiece is the focal part of your table and ties together the entire party aesthetic. Flowers are a tried and true option to occupy this crucial space but there are many fun ways to decorate. Here are some unique centerpiece ideas you can use as inspiration for your next party.

#1: Paper fans

Paper fans can make for a beautiful backdrop, but they can also be used to create an elegant and textured table runner. Simply arrange your fans in alternating sizes and colors along the center of your table until you’ve got the centerpiece you want. Get the look with these party fans.

#2: Vases and Votives

Ok so it's hard to get totally away from flowers but a unique spin on the standard bouquet is to use delicate bud vases and single stem flowers to pepper your table. Vary the shape and height and mix in some votives. Check out our bud vases and votives here, or try using items around your house, like mason jars, pasta jars, or glass coke bottles.

#3: Eucalyptus

The great thing about using eucalyptus as a table centerpiece is it can be kept clean and simple or you can dress it up, depending on the theme.

For something simple and understated, pair candles with a garland of eucalyptus. If you’d like to go a bit more romantic (think bridal shower), mix in some fresh flowers to add a pop of color. Try out our eucalyptus garland, twinkle lights, and blossom lights to create the perfect green centerpiece.

If you really want to take your centerpiece to the next level, try mixing in some fresh fruit and flowers (or even some string lights).

#4: Table runner

No matter what kind of party you’re planning, a classic table runner is always a great choice.

Even something as simple as butcher paper can really dress up your table.

You could also use high-quality gift wrap and simply cut it to the length of your table. If you like this idea, check out our rainbow paper table runner, which is perfect for birthday parties.

For a little more romance, use a lace table runner and dress it up with fresh flowers, vases, votives, or string lights. Hint: you can create this look for less using simple paper doilies :)

#5: Balloons

Balloons are a great way to bring in some fun color. In the simplest version, all you need are some multi-colored balloons tied together to create a balloon garland centerpiece.

#6: Let the season guide you

If you’re throwing a seasonal or holiday-themed party, we recommend using the elements of the season to build your perfect centerpiece.
