June is Pride Month, and Coterie is celebrating! Pride Month was established in 1969 and it has since become a yearly celebration of the LGBTQ+ community across the country. If you live in a city that participates in Pride Month, you know that it’s a huge, wonderful party with parades full of color, glitter, confetti and most importantly, fun. The LGBTQ+ community invites all to celebrate with them, regardless of sexual orientation, preference or gender identity. Anyone and everyone is welcome, as long as you bring acceptance and good vibes.

We created our Rainbow Pride Party Set to help you celebrate 50 years of Pride in perfect rainbow style. The Set has rainbow everything  - napkins, balloons, straws and even a table runner that will make your party pop with color. Plus, we are so excited to partner with Winky Lux to add some special sparkle to our Pride Party set. Winky Lux is a NYC-based, cruelty-free makeup brand that is well known for their colored lip balms and high color makeup. For the 50th Anniversary of Pride, they released a brand new Rainbow Balm - a tinted and pH hybrid balm that leaves behind a just-been-kissed flush of color. It is the perfect addition to our Pride Party Set and will help keep your lips nourished all celebration long.

We launched this collection in honor of the LGBTQ+ community and everything they have accomplished over the past 50 years. While the world has made major strides towards acceptance, we know progress remains to be made which is why we are donating 10% of the proceeds from our Rainbow Pride Party Set to the North Shore Alliance of GLBTQ Youth (nAGLY)

As one of the country’s largest LGBTQ+ spaces in the country, nAGLY provides a welcoming, safe and fabulous place for those who identify as LGBTQ+ to discuss relationships, families, “coming out”, combating homophobia or bullying, activism, and Pride.

It’s not always easy being young and LGBTQ+. On top of normal teenage growing pains there is fear of being different, misunderstanding, harassment and isolation. At nAGLY, LGTBQ+ youth can find a place of belonging and peers who are at different stages of becoming the people they are meant to be. It offers young people education, skills and community and provides them with a new reality and images of a hopeful future.

We are proud to support nAGLY and the amazing work they do for their community.

nAGLY is based in Salem, MA, but provides various contacts information on their website. They also offer free HIV & STD testing, a donation-based boutique for clothes for those who need it, like someone who is transitioning and needs a new wardrobe! So, if you’re not in the Massachusetts area and want to support the group, consider doing some summer closet cleaning and donate clothes or get in touch with an advisor at the group!

"When all Americans are treated as equal, no matter who they are or whom they love, we are all more free." --Barack Obama.

Happy Pride Month and spread love to all!
