If you're like us, you have some go to appetizers that you can whip up in a flash. Artichoke dip, a cheese plate, or a caprese dish, etc. All are delicious but, let's be honest, kinda boring. Sometimes you want to mix it up. And there's nothing like someone asking you for the recipe for your wonderful dish.

So for something a bit more unexpected, try this amazing and easy Cheese-Stuffed Figs recipe! With only FIVE ingredients, they're super easy to make, somewhat healthy, and a perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Cheese stuffed fig with pecan and balsamic drizzle
Original Recipe from Aggie’s Kitchen

INGREDIENTS:

  • 24 dried figs
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup fresh grated asiago cheese
  • pinch fresh ground pepper
  • 24 toasted pecans
  • Balsamic Glaze

DIRECTIONS:

  • In a small bowl combine Gorgonzola, Asiago and fresh ground pepper. Using a small knife, make a slit into side of dried figs (do not cut all the way through, but almost the entire length of fig). Using your hands, stuff fig with about 1/2 teaspoon of cheese mixture (more or less depending on the size of the fig). Top with toasted pecan and press down. Line up on plate and drizzle with balsamic glaze right before serving.

Enjoy!
